| Spanish abstract | Introducción: el pólipo fibroepitelial fue descrito inicialmente por Norris y Taylor en 1996; el descontrol hormonal y los niveles elevados de estrógeno y progestágeno durante el embarazo pueden facilitar su desarrollo. Los fibromas blandos son lesiones pedunculadas de variado tamaño que se presentan, principalmente, en la axila y el cuello. La mayoría de los casos ocurren en edad reproductiva, muchas veces asociados con el embarazo, como en este caso, y puede presentarse con formas múltiples (pólipos sésiles y pediculadas). Presentación del caso: se presenta una paciente con un pólipo fibroepitelial de mama que comenzó cuando salió embarazada, hacía 10 años, y se notó una pequeña tumoración en la piel, al lado del pezón, que creció según avanzaba el embarazo. Conclusiones: por la rareza de su localización se realizó este informe |
| English abstract | Introduction: the fibroepithelial polyp was initially described by Norris and Taylor in 1996; hormonal decontrol and elevated levels of estrogen and progestogen during pregnancy can facilitate their development. Soft fibroids are pedunculated lesions of varying size that occur mainly in the armpit and neck. It is very important the association with pregnancy, as occurs is this case. It can be presented with multiple forms (sessile and pedunculated polyps). Case report: the case of a female patient with a breast fibroepithelial polyp that began when she was pregnant 10 years ago and found a small tumor on the skin next to the nipple that grew as the pregnancy progressed is reported. Conclusions: due to the rarity of its location, this report is made |
