| Spanish abstract | Los agronegocios ofrecen la promesa de estimular el crecimiento agrícola y la reducción de la pobreza rural mediante la inclusión en su cadena de valor de individuos y grupos pertenecientes al sector de bajos ingresos (SBI). Utilizando el marco analítico de la cadena agroindustrial, en este artículo los autores examinan cinco casos de investigación sobre agronegocios que han incorporado al SBI en actividades de su cadena de valor y, al hacerlo, han logrado mejorar los ingresos y la calidad de vida de las personas involucradas y de sus familias de manera relevante |
| English abstract | Agribusiness offers the promise of stimulating agricultural growth and the reduction of rural poverty through the inclusion of individuals and groups belonging to the low income sector, LIS, in the agribusiness value chain. In this article the authors examine five case studies using the agroindustrial chain framework, which apart from their economic motivation, have incorporated the LIS in the activities of the value chain to simultaneously improve income and quality of life for LIS members and their families |
