| English abstract | The article aimed to ascertain which items comprise d intangible assets shown in the balance sheet of companies in the Wireline industry who tra de their shares on the BM&FBovespa. A descriptive research, conducted through document an alysis and quantitative analysis of data. The balance sheet, the management report and accomp anying notes for the period 2007-2009 were analyzed. Initially, we identified the compani es with intangible assets shown in the balance sheet. Then, by means of management reports and notes, the different intangible described by the companies in their reports and sub sequently held a regrouping according to the proposed by Sveiby (1998) classification were i dentified. Finally, the corresponding values of investments, assets, deferred and intangi ble assets of each firm were collected to assess which of them had the best combination of ta ngible assets related to its intangible . The results indicated that the companies under review s howed an internal structure composed of intangible patents, infrastructure resources and in formation systems; and an outer structure composed of brands, customer base, concession contr acts and agile on investments. | Portuguese abstract | O artigo teve como objetivo principal verificar qua is itens compunham os ativos intangíveis evidenciados no balanço patrimonial das companhias do setor de Telefonia Fixa que negociavam ações na BMF&Bovespa. Realizou-se pesqui sa descritiva, conduzida por meio de análise documental e abordagem quantitativa dos dados. Foram analisados o balanço patrimonial, relatório de administração e as notas explicativas do período de 2007 a 2009. Inicialmente, identificaram-se as empresas que poss uíam ativos intangíveis evidenciados no balanço patrimonial. Em seguida, por meio dos relat órios da administração e notas explicativas, foram identificados os diferentes int angíveis descritos pelas companhias em seus relatórios e, posteriormente, realizou-se um reagru pamento de acordo com a classificação proposta por Sveiby (1998). Por fim, foram coletado s os valores correspondentes aos investimentos, imobilizados, diferidos e intangívei s de cada empresa para avaliar quais delas possuíam melhores combinação de ativos tangíveis re lacionados com seus intangíveis. Os resultados indicaram que as empresas sob análise ap resentaram uma estrutura intangível interna composta por patentes, recursos de infraest rutura e sistemas de informação; e uma estrutura externa composta por marcas, carteira de clientes, contratos de concessão e ágil sobre investimentos. Pela análise da eficiência por meio do DEA observou-se evolução na combinação de investimentos, imobilizados, diferido s, relacionados com seus intangíveis no decorrer dos anos analisados |
