| Spanish abstract | El presente trabajo constituye una importante revisión sobre el uso del agua de mar como una fuente hídrica alternativa al agua dulce en los procesos de lixiviación de cobre, debido a la escasez y agotamiento de las aguas superficiales. Actualmente, el uso de agua de mar presenta un fuerte crecimiento en la industria minera, especialmente en áreas desérticas y en minas localizadas en regiones áridas. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo es presentar una relación de los estudios que se han hecho sobre su uso y en los cuales se pudiera considerar su potencial, permitiendo a las empresas ser más competitivas y sustentables |
| English abstract | This work makes up an important review on the use of seawater as an alternative to fresh water in the leaching and flotation copper processes, due to water shortages and depletion of surface water. Currently, the use of seawater present a strong growth of the mining industry, especially in desert areas and mines located in arid regions. Therefore, the objective of this work is present an account of the studies that have been done on its use and which may consider the potential of this, will certainly allow the company to be more competitive and sustainable |
