| English abstract | This paper examines the relationship between the agrarian and rural poverty and underdevelopment. Initially sets the agrarian past the main concepts and their evolution. Refer to the land law of 1850 citing it as a source of landlordism and favelas of Brazil. In the period 1930 to 1950 shows the economic subordination of agriculture to the industrial sector, also cites the conservative modernization of the 1970s and concludes with globalization or globalized agriculture scientific agriculture that brings all the perversity of market economy |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo analisa a relação entre a questão agrária e subdesenvolvimento e pobreza no campo. Define inicialmente a questão agrária passando pelos principais conceitos e sua evolução. Remete-se à lei de terra de 1850 citando-a como origem do latifúndio e favelas do Brasil. No período de 1930 a 1950 mostra a subordinação econômica da agricultura ao setor industrial, cita ainda a modernização conservadora da década de 1970 e conclui com a globalização ou agricultura científica globalizada que traz para a agricultura toda a perversidade da economia de mercado |
