| Spanish abstract | El mundo rural está en transformación. El desarrollo rural requiere cambios que permitan la revalorización de las áreas rurales sobre nuevas fuentes de renta. La participación activa y formal de las mujeres en esta mutación resulta clave, aunque se necesitan instrumentos económicos para fomentar su empoderamiento. La finalidad de este artículo es analizar las relaciones entre empoderamiento femenino, actividad empresarial y desarrollo rural en América Latina. Para ello, se ha realizado un Modelo de Ecuaciones Estructurales, con la técnica de Mínimos Cuadros Parciales. Los resultados confirman las relaciones de dependencia entre el empoderamiento femenino y el desarrollo rural por medio de la actividad emprendedora y del desarrollo |
| English abstract | The rural world is in transformation. Rural development requires changes that allow the revaluation of rural areas on new income sources. The active and formal involvement of women in this mutation is essential, though economic instruments are needed to promote their empowerment. The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between female empowerment, entrepreneurship and rural development in Latin America. To that end, a Structural Equation Model has been performed with the Partial Least Squares technique.
