| English abstract | In a series of lectures given at the 18th Biennial of São Paulo, Flusser explores the concept of artifice as referring to a non-automatic association between art and technique. This article is the elaboration of the philosopher’s arguments for a broader understanding of the two terms that give rise to the concept of artifice. In order to do this, first I investigated the relationship between art and technique, then the influence of history on the thinking about these concepts, and then reflect on what is the role of art today, which leads to its new relationship with technique, i.e., the artifice |
