| Spanish abstract | Las estadísticas de emigración española que se elaboran en España presentan ciertos problemas debido a que muchos emigrantes españoles, especialmente los más recientes, no se inscriben en el Padrón de Españoles Residentes en el Extranjero (PERE), base del registro emigratorio, o demoran largo tiempo en hacerlo. En este trabajo, tomando principalmente como base los datos de una encuesta realizada a poco más de dos mil españoles emigrados desde España entre 2008 y 2012, se observa, además, la existencia de patrones sociodemográficos en el registro de este fenómeno. Entre los hallazgos más significativos cabe reseñar el elevado subregistro de los jóvenes entre 18 y 29 años |
| English abstract | Spanish emigration statistics in Spain have a number of problems since many Spanish immigrants, especially the most recent ones, are not registered in the Register of Spaniards Resident Abroad (PERE), the emigration register, or take a long time to do so. This paper, which draws primarily from the database of a survey of just over two thousand Spaniards who emigrated from Spain between 2008 and 2012, also shows the existence of socio-demographic patterns in the registration of this phenomenon.
