| English abstract | The aim of this paper is to anal yz e the s y mbolic universe of Virginia Woolf’s novel To the lighthouse, related to the formative aspects of literature. As theoretical and methodological references, it is adopt ed the symbolic hermeneutics perspective (Bachelard, Durand, Ricouer, Morin) and the pedagogical approaches of literature (Paulo Freire, Antonio Candido and Tzevan Todorov). The works of Woolf, by its stream of consciousness, sharpe n the subjectivity and imagination of the reader. The interpretation of her works allows, therefore, a lot of ways to under stand her and to understand ourselves against the world proposed by the text |
| Portuguese abstract | O objetivo deste artigo é analisar o universo simbólico do romance Passeio ao Farol, de Virginia Woolf, em relação aos aspectos formativos da literatura. Como referencial teórico e metodológico é adotada a perspectiva da hermenêutica simbólica (Bachelard, Durand, Ricoeur, Morin) e das abordagens pedagógicas da literatura (Paulo Freire, Antonio Candido e Todorov). A obra de Woolf, por meio do fluxo de consciência, aguça a subjetividade e a imaginação do leitor. A interpretação de sua obra propicia, portanto, formas diversas de compreendê-la e de compreender-se diante do mundo proposto pelo texto |
