| Resumen en español | Esta investigación surge de la necesidad de revisar y actualizar las políticas para la conformación de Zonas de Interés Turístico (ZIT), especialmente la declarada para 1974 en la región Barlovento del estado Miranda. En tal sentido, el objetivo general se centró en analizar las áreas turísticas que la conforman actualmente que puedan ser aprovechadas para impulsar el turismo de manera más sustentable, incorporando al análisis un inventario con categorías del patrimonio sociocultural y utilizando herramientas de análisis espacial. La región se caracteriza por paisajes y bellezas escénicas asociadas al litoral, favoreciendo principalmente el turismo de sol y playa. Sin embargo, esta región desde su declaración como ZIT, ha presentado problemas ambientales, generado por el uso intensivo y descontrolado de los atractivos turísticos, el crecimiento anárquico de la población, ocasionando un trastorno del ambiente costero, el paisaje y los servicios a la población residente y visitante. El litoral Barloventeño presenta un estancamiento en el desarrollo turístico del área, debido al desconocimiento de su patrimonio y a la subutilización de los recursos, un potencial turístico abandonado, además del descontrol en el manejo de los visitantes por parte de las autoridades y la comunidad residente, ocasionando una deficiencia en los elementos del sistema turístico. Los resultados permiten identificar dos áreas de interés turístico, en los que se establecen lineamientos para su mejor aprovechamiento, alcanzar una mayor integración y eficiencia de los diferentes elementos asociados al sistema turístico, a manera de impulsar su desarrollo en el área |
| Resumen en inglés | This research arises from the need to review and update the policies for the establishment of Zones of Tourist Interest (ZIT) especially that declared for 1974 in the Barlovento region of Miranda state. The general objective was to analyze the tourist areas that currently make it that can be used to boost tourism in a more sustainable way, incorporating an inventory with socio-cultural heritage categories and using spatial analysis tools. The region is characterized by landscapes and scenic beauties associated with the coast, favoring mainly the tourism of sun and beach. However, this region since its declaration as ZIT, has presented environmental problems, generated by the intensive and uncontrolled use of tourist attractions, the anarchic growth of the population, causing a disruption to the coastal environment, the landscape and services to the population resident and visitor. The windward coast presents a stagnation in the tourist development of the area, due to the ignorance of their heritage and the underutilization of resources, a tourist potential abandoned as well as the lack of control in the management of the visitors by the authorities and the resident community, causing a deficiency in the elements of the tourist system. The results allow the identification of two areas of tourist interest, which establish guidelines for their best use, achieve greater integration and efficiency of the different elements associated with the tourism system, in order to boost its development in the area |
