| Resumen en inglés | Starting from the productive structure of the state of Maranhão and its distribution on a regional scale, the objective is toanalyze the evolution of formal employment in the period 2006-2016. This time frame is justified, as it is linked to the compatibility of economic activities between the main sources of information used: the Annual Social Information List (RAIS) and the Regional Accounts System. The spatial cutout, on the other hand, takes as reference the Immediate Regions, a definition elaborated by the IBGE, which replaced the old micro-regions. The methodology used was the adaptation of the Herfindhal-Hirschman index to calculate the different sectors of activity, together with a regression model to estimate sectoral employment-value added elasticity values |
| Resumen en portugués | O artigotem como base a estrutura produtivado estado do Maranhão e sua distribuição em escala regional,e objetivaanalisara evolução do emprego formal, no período 2006-2016.
