| Resumen en español | Este artículo analiza cómo Zulia, Zulia, Zulia (2015), un óleo sobre lienzo en el que la artista colombiana Beatriz González retrata la experiencia de cientos de miles de inmigrantes anónimos que cargan refrigeradores, televisores y camas por el río Táchira, resiste los regímenes de representación que dominan el debate actual sobre la crisis migratoria en Venezuela. Al explorar la imagen de siluetas humanas cargando sus pertenencias como el símbolo por excelencia de esa crisis, González ofrece una aproximación a la relación entre política y estética en tiempos de emergencia que arroja luz sobre las aporías de la nacionalidad y la pertenencia en América Latina hoy |
| Resumen en inglés | This paper analyzes how Beatriz González's Zulia, Zulia, Zulia (2015)-an oil on canvas depicting the plight of hundreds of thousands of anonymous immigrants carrying refrigerators, tv sets, and beds through the Táchira river-resists the regimes of representation that dominate the current debate about the Venezuelan migration crisis. By exploring the image of human silhouettes carrying their belongings as the ultimate symbol of this crisis, González addresses the relationship between politics and aesthetics in times of emergency while unveiling the aporias of nationality and belonging in contemporary Latin America |
