| Resumen en español | Se exponen las circunstancias históricas y culturales que rodearon a la conformación del "Ateneo de la Juventud" en 1909. Se pone en cuestión la tesis, comúnmente aceptada, de que el positivismo fue "la filosofía oficial del porfiriato" a partir de una nueva concepción del paradigma positivista y se analizan las tres tesis que se han dado a conocer sobre la función de este grupo en relación con la Revolución mexicana: a) que los ateneístas constituyeron un antecedente ideológico de este movimiento; b) que se mantuvieron lejanos a él, y c) que, por el contrario, el positivismo fue parte integrante de la ideología del proceso revolucionario |
| Resumen en inglés | A presentation of the historical and cultural circumstances surrounding the creation of the "Ateneo de la Juventud" (Atheneum of Youth) in 1909. It questions the commonly accepted thesis that positivism was "the official philosophy of the Porfiriato" from the standpoint of a new conception of the positivist paradigm, and analyzing the three theses which have been put forward about the function of this group in relation to the Mexican Revolution: a) that the Atheneists constituted an ideological antecedent of this movement; b) that they kept themselves apart from it; and c) that, to the contrary, positivism was an integral part of the revolutionary process |
