| Resumen en español | En la actualidad son múltiples las investigaciones que se llevan a cabo en torno al complejo problema de la adherencia terapéutica debido a sus consecuencias negativas. Objetivos: Evaluar la adherencia terapéutica en pacientes con enfermedades crónicas hospitalizados en un Servicio de Medicina Interna. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal en 50 pacientes caracterizados según variables biosociales y clínicas. Para la determinación de la adherencia terapéutica se utilizó el test de Batalla y el test de Morisky-Green, definiendo a los pacientes en adherentes y no adherentes. Se analizaron los posibles factores asociados a la adherencia y se realizaron intervenciones educativas., se utilizó la revisión de las historias clínicas y la entrevista como instrumento de trabajo, la significación estadística de la influencia de los factores fue evaluada a través de Chi-cuadrado. Resultados: En el presente estudio hubo predominio del sexo femenino, la edad promedio fue de 65 años y el nivel de escolaridad fue el primario, prevaleció la hipertensión arterial en el 90% de los pacientes y los antihipertensivos como medicamentos más utilizados. Se obtuvo un 54% de pacientes adherentes con respecto a 46% de no adherentes. Los factores tales como número de enfermedades crónicas, limitación de la actividad social y la accesibilidad al servicio farmacéutico estuvieron asociados a la adherencia terapéutica. Las intervenciones educativas realizadas fueron la charla y el consejo/informativo. Conclusiones: Los resultados revelan adherencia terapéutica en la mayoría de los pacientes y la necesidad de continuar con la educación sanitaria a grupos con enfermedades crónicas |
| Resumen en inglés | Currently there are many investigations that are carried out around the complex problem of therapeutic adherence due to its negative consequences. Aims: To evaluate the therapeutic adherence in patients with chronic diseases hospitalized in an Internal Medicine Service. Methods: An observational, descriptive and transversal study was carried out in 50 patients characterized according to biosocial and clinical variables. For the determination of therapeutic adherence, the Battle test and the Morisky-Green test were used, defining the patients as adherent and non-adherent. Possible factors associated with adherence were analyzed and educational interventions were carried out. The review of the clinical histories and the interview as a working instrument were used, the statistical significance of the influence of the factors was evaluated through Chi-square. Results: Predominance of the feminine sex, the average age of 65 years and the level of primary schooling, hypertension prevailed in 90% of patients and antihypertensive drugs as the most used drugs. 54% of adherent patients were obtained compared to 46% of non-adherent patients. Factors such as number of chronic diseases, limitation of social activity and accessibility to the pharmaceutical service were associated with therapeutic adherence. The educational interventions carried out were the talk and the advice/information. Conclusions: The results reveal therapeutic adherence in most patients and the need to continue with health education to groups with chronic diseases |
