Resumen en inglés | During the years 1945-1948 the board of the Democratic Action Party government ruled Venezuela. In this period there were some clashes between the Church and the State at the political and social situation in wich the Church feared feared for the imposition of a socialist regime that discriminated and attacked the Catholic institution. They were intense debates in the Constituent Assembly, in wich there were four priest assembly. The bishops intervened indirectly in these discussions through their pastoral letters in wich they discussed, among other things, issues of inclusion of the name of God in the new Constitution, the anachronistic law Ecclesiastical Patronage and private Catholic education. These discussions had a significant impact on public opinion and on the destiny of the country, and left their mark. In the end, the adeco regime, succumbed and ended up being overthrown |
