| Resumen en inglés | From the research built during our academic life, carried out in different Brazilian localities, we have paid attention to the relations established in the interface of the distinct childhoods, their routine and their spatial contexts. We have been situating our scholarship on the borders of these themes, something we have been calling “Geography of Childhood”. The term is justified, since children, when sharing their reality among them, are going to establish a horizontal relation of identity between them and they are going to build a vertical relation of identification with the adults, constituting real conceptions that enable the experience of their childhood inside the logic of social organization of the group. This article is an invitation of two researchers for a discussion about the area of knowledge entitled “Geography of Childhood”. | Resumen en portugués | A partir de pesquisas construídas durante a nossa trajetória acadêmica, realizadas em diferentes localidades brasileiras, atentou-se para as relações estabelecidas na interface das diferentes infâncias, seus cotidianos e seus contextos espaciais. Nas fronteiras dessas temáticas é que tem situado nossos trabalhos de investigação, dimensão que temos chamado de forma geral de “Geografia da Infância”. O termo se justifica, uma vez que as crianças, ao compartilharem a realidade com as demais, irão estabelecer uma relação horizontal de identidade entre elas e criar uma relação vertical de identificação com os adultos, constituindo concepções reais que possibilitam a vivência da sua infância dentro da lógica de organização social do grupo. Esse texto é um convite de dois pesquisadores para discutir sobre essa área de conhecimento intitulada “Geografia da Infância”.
