Resumen en inglés Objetive: To estimate the prevalence of seropositivity for Chlamydophila pneumoniae (CP) and Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) in children asthma attack in the General Hospital of Culiacán and compared with the asthmatic children without seizures. Material and Methods: An observational, prolective, transversal and comparative study in 164 children attending the Allergy and Immunology Pediatric Clinic of the HGC. in a period that included April 2008 to March 2009, was taken into account to meet a range of 3 to 17 years of age, either sex, with clinical symptoms for asthma, in crisis and without CXR infiltrates or consolidation of lung parenchyma, was performed by technical Serology IgM Microelisa all children. The data were analyzed with SPSS © version 17. Results: entering a total of 164 children, of whom 46.95% (77) were children with acute asthma (cases) and 53.05% (87) were patients without acute asthma (comparison group). The prevalence of MP in patients with acute asthma in the study population is 28.61% and for patients without acute asthma is 13.1%. All patients studied were negative for CP regardless of the presence or absence of asthma attack. Conclusions:In our pediatric population that goes to the General Hospital of Culiacan , the prevalence of MP in asthmatic children in crisis leads us to believe that it is not a microorganism of low frequency, and that in about a third of patients 3 to 17 years of age are presented serological positivity of it, while the probability of finding CP in children with acute asthma in our study population has been negative, guidance on the possibility of holding MP during attacks of asthma in these age groups are not adequately responsive to conventional management
