| Resumen en inglés | In this paper, by using the tools of discourse semiotics, we analyze the passion dimension in Victor Hugo’s poem “Veni, Vidi, Vixi”. In the poem, where dysphoria is omnipresent, the passion of despair is central. We intend to unveil the passionate rationality as well as the mode of presence of the passion of despair in the poem. Thus, indirectly, the semiotics theories of passions are put to test in the text, which allows us to assess the heuristic value and the theoretical pertinence of the Greimasian semiotics for the analysis of passions |
