| Resumen en español | «Al compás de la semana» es una sección de la revista Zig-Zag que se publicó entre 1927 y 1930 en la que convergió la acción editorial y escritural de Elvira Santa Cruz Ossa (Roxane). En este artículo se plantea que «Al compás de la semana» muestra a una cronista-editora cuyo trabajo desborda los límites de lo que se podría esperar para una sección de crónica de actualidad. Asimismo, se muestra que el contenido «mujeres», «condición femenina» y «trabajo femenino» cobra un protagonismo inusitado en la revista. Se arguye entonces que, tras las fotografías que remitían, la mayoría de las veces, al tópico social o a la actualidad política y cultural, se esconde una sección femenina sui generis |
| Resumen en inglés | Between 1927 and 1930 Zig-Zag magazine published «Al compás de la semana», a section in which the editorial and writing action of Elvira Santa Cruz Ossa (Roxane) converged. On the one hand, in this article, we analyze the features of the section, and we argue that «Al compás de la semana» discloses a chronicler-editor whose work exceeds the limits of what ones could expect for a section of current affairs. On the other hand, we discuss the section from a gender perspective. We point out that although it is a section devoted to current affairs, «women», «feminine condition» and «women labor» take on an unusual leading role and tone in contrast with other sections and contents of Zig-Zag magazine. Furthermore, this content also exposes some feminist ideas of the early twentieth century. Therefore, the hypothesis of this article argues that a sui generis female section conceals behind the photographs of the section that referred, most of the time, to social life and travel or to political and cultural news |
