| Resumen en inglés | This article explores the identification and analysis of the possible functions, or the instrumental, utilitarian, meaningful, communicative, aesthetic and symbolic, values, from which objects and artifacts are represented, interpreted and renewed, in the context of technological innovation and the prevailing consumer society. The analysis intends to take a safe distance from the strictly teleological, utilitarian, and instrumentalist approaches. |
| Resumen en español | En este artículo se profundiza en la identificación y el análisis de las posibles funciones o valores instrumentales, utilitarios, significativos, comunicativos, estéticos y simbólicos desde los cuales se representan, interpretan y renuevan los objetos y artefactos en el contexto de la innovación tecnológica y la reinante sociedad de consumo. Esta identificación pretende tomar buena distancia de los enfoques estrictamente teleológicos, utilitarios e instrumentalistas. |
