Resumen en inglés | During the stage skin-pass in the cold rolling process usually used as refrigeration and lubrication in the regions of contact between roll and strip steel a great volume of oil mixture with water (emulsion) for spray. During the cold deformation the emulsion adheres to the roll and the strip causing a reduction of the rolling force, and at same time keeping the suitable refrigeration. The work will be presented a new and revolutionary technique of skin-pass which applies liquid nitrogen instead of emulsion. Will be emphasized the main advantages that the new technology offers in comparison with the conventional rolling process. Amongst the advantages it can be distinguished the excellent finishing of surface as well as the cleanness and brightness, the uniformity of finishing and surface roughness, the elimination of problems due to surface oxidation, making possible besides the increase in the speed of the rolling process, the reduction of stages of pre-treatment, elimination of problems of adherence in coated materials and the possibility of new developments of products due to production of strips free from protective oil |
