The article deals with the topic of pragmatic competence in foreign language teaching using the example of humorous actions in the classroom or in accompanying materials in German and Russian. Humor can appear in different presentation formats. The importance of this competence and the understanding of humor is essential for transculturality, national and international understanding and is accordingly anchored in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which is used as a guide for foreign language teaching.
