| Resumen en inglés | A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in patients who attended the Ortodoncia consultation of the "Julio Antonio Mella" Clinic during the whole year 2012; with the objective of evaluating the application of Stripping or interdental weathering in patients with bone-negative tooth discrepancy. The following variables are used: age, sex, bone-tooth discrepancy, time of treatment, effectiveness of therapy. The primary data were obtained from the clinical history and the questioning of parents and patients. A universe of 15 patients who attended the consultation of Orthodontics clinic. Of the total number of patients detected, the most affected age group was 12 to 18 years old, with a predominance of females. The effectiveness of the therapy was demonstrated since good results were obtained in a shorter time, obtaining good satisfaction on the part of the patients to the treatment. |
| Resumen en español | Se realiza un estudio descriptivo trasversal, en pacientes que acudieron a la consulta de Ortodoncia de la Clínica "Julio Antonio Mella" durante todo el año 2012, con el objetivo de evaluar la aplicación del Stripping o desgaste interdentario en pacientes con discrepancia hueso-diente negativa. Se utilizan las variables: edad, sexo, discrepancia hueso–diente, tiempo de tratamiento, efectividad de la terapia. Los datos primarios se obtuvieron a partir de las historia clínicas y el interrogatorio a padres y pacientes. Se trabaja con un universo de 15 pacientes que asistieron a la consulta de Ortodoncia de dicha clínica. Del total de pacientes detectados el grupo de edad más afectado fue el de 12 a 18 años, con predominio del sexo femenino. Se demostró la efectividad de la terapia ya que se lograron buenos resultados en menor tiempo, obteniendo buena satisfacción por parte de los pacientes al tratamiento. |
