| Resumen en español | Los incendios forestales en Venezuela, por su intensidad y frecuencia, son un problema de orden económico y ambiental, en razón de su impacto negativo sobre nuestros bosques y la materia prima que ellos generan para la industria venezolana. Los Bomberos Forestales son el organismo adecuado del Estado venezolano para atender estos eventos, pero ante su ausencia legal, el mismo Estado se ocupa de los mismos a través del Comando Nacional Unificado contra Incendios Forestales, integrado por el Ministerio del Ambiente y de los Recursos Naturales, Instituto Nacional de Parques, Guardia Nacional y Protección Civil, con un amplio apoyo por parte de organizaciones voluntarias. La actuación de estos entes está regulada por una serie de normas de carácter obligatorio que persiguen el combate y control de incendios, pero con poca atención a la prevención de los mismos, hecho que debería ser abordado por medio del énfasis en la educación ambiental en materia de incendios forestales. Solo así será posible garantizar para las generaciones futuras los recursos naturales presentes hoy en el país |
| Resumen en inglés | Forest fires in Venezuela, because of its intensity and frequency, are an environment and economical problem, due to the negative impact they cause over our forests and to the natural resources they generate for the Venezuelan industry. Forest fire-fighter is the state´s organism to take care of it, but since it doesn’t exist legally, the same state assigns this responsibility to the National Unified Command against Forest Fires, multipart public organ integrated by Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources, the National Parks Institute, the National Guard and the Civil Protection Organization, backed up by several volunteers organizations. Mandatory norms regulate the activity that pursues the fight and the extinction of forest fires, but little attention is paid to its prevention, and environmental education on forest fires is clue to this. It is the only possible way to guarantee for the future generations the natural resources present at this time in the country |
