| Resumen en español | UNESCO ha declarado al pasado año (2005) como "Año de la Física". Este artículo tuvo la intención de promover –desde el campo de la Ley- el estudio de la Física y el propósito de que fuese comprendido por profesionales del Derecho. Se aborda la última parte ("fijar el estándar de pesos y medidas") del artículo 75 sección 11 de la Constitución Argentina (que se basó en el artículo I sección 8 punto 5 de la Constitución de los Estados Unidos) y su desarrollo a través de Convenciones Internacionales y las leyes argentinas: 52, 790, 845, 12.384 y 19.511. En las primeras secciones del artículo se discute el uso erróneo de "pesos" o "pesas" (traducciones ambas de la palabra inglesa "weights") en publicaciones de la Constitución de diferentes editoriales. Se presentan, también, algunas interesantes citas de discusiones entre legisladores argentinos que muestran las dificultades enfrentadas para cambiar el sistema colonial de medidas por un nuevo y unificado estándar basado en el sistema métrico decimal |
| Resumen en inglés | The UNESCO has declared the past year (2005) as "Year of Physics". This article was intended to promote –from the field of Law- the study of the Physics, and aims at being understood by laymen. It treats the last part ("fix the standard of weights and measures") of article 75 section 11 of the Argentinean Constitution (which was based on article I section 8 point 5 of the U.S. Constitution) and its development through International Conventions and Argentinean Laws: 52, 790, 845, 12384 and 19511. In the first sections, the article discusses the mistaken use of either "pesOs" or "pesAs" (both translations of the english word "weights") in publications of the Constitution by different publishing houses The article contains as well some interesting quotations of 19th century Argentinean congressmen that show the difficulties of changing the colonial system of measures for the new and unified standard of measures based on the decimal (and metrical) system |
