Resumen en inglés The purpose of this work is to evaluate the thermal and kinetic behavior of biodiesel derived from three natural oil sources and a reference diesel. The biodiesel samples come from soybean, higuereta and beet oils, and a standard diesel sample as reference. The kinetic parameters were obtained by thermal analysis, estimating reaction order, pre-exponential factor and activation energy. For estimation of them a kinetic model based on Vyazovkin theory was used. The selection criterion of best fits was based on correlation coefficient of the linear regression and compensation effect of the kinetic parameters. The criterion of best fit for the models is based on the best correlation coefficients obtained for the Arrhenius plots and the study of the compensation effect. The thermogravimetric profile of biodiesel samples indicated one decomposition step, with similar mass loss curves and the first derivatives, and different from the obtained for diesel respect onset and offset temperatures of their thermal decomposition processes. The diesel activation energy varies between 41 and 44 kJ · mol–1 and between 52 and 67 kJ · mol–1 for biodiesel samples. The evaluated reaction order is first order in case of diesel and 1,2 respect biodiesel. The biodiesel thermal stability is higher than diesel
