| Resumen en español | En la educación superior del siglo XXI no se puede hacer referencia a la biblioteca universitaria solo como atesoradora de documentos impresos, sino que hay que tener en cuenta la importancia de las fuentes de información en una gran variedad de soportes, determinantes hoy, en la enseñanza universitaria. El desarrollo alcanzado ha permitido el incremento de la información a un ritmo incontrolable y aunque ha tenido un fuerte impacto en la diversificación de soportes, en el flujo de información y en la transmisión del conocimiento, también ha tenido sus limitaciones en cuanto a poder llevar al estudiante universitario aquella información pertinente que tribute a su formación profesional. Teniendo en cuenta lo anteriormente planteado se propone como objetivo, reflexionar sobre la importancia que tiene la biblioteca universitaria “Antonio Machado Ruiz” en el desarrollo del proceso docente – educativo en la Carrera Ingeniería Forestal de la Universidad de Granma. Se aplicaron métodos teóricos (histórico-lógico, análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción), empíricos (encuesta, observación científica-participativa) y estadísticos (estadística descriptiva). Se propone, además, un procedimiento para la adecuada gestión de las diferentes fuentes de información, conformado por dos acciones y un sistema de operaciones. En el estudio se enfatiza que la gestión adecuada de las fuentes de información potencia la calidad del proceso docente-educativo, en el cual la biblioteca universitaria juega un papel importante |
| Resumen en inglés | In higher education in the 21st century can not be referred to the university library only as a treasurer of printed documents, but we must consider the importance of sources in a variety of media, determinants today, in university education. The development achieved has allowed the increase of information at an uncontrollable pace and although it has had a strong impact in the diversification of information media, in the flow of information and in the transmission of knowledge, it has also had its limitations in terms of being able to carry to the university student that pertinent information that taxes their professional training. Considering the above, it is proposed as an objective, to reflect on the importance of the university library "Antonio Machado Ruiz" in the development of the teaching - educational process in the Forestry Engineering Career of the University of Granma. Theoretical methods were applied (historical-logical, analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction), empirical (survey, scientific-participative observation) and statistical (descriptive statistics). It also proposes a procedure for the adequate management of different sources of information, consisting of two actions and a system of operations. The study emphasizes that the adequate management of information sources enhances the quality of the teaching-educational process, in which the university library plays an important role |
