| Resumen en inglés | In 1937, Prost, Lambert and Rotival carried out a study for Caracas that would point out the urban developement guidelines to be followed. The well-known Rotival plan was published in 1939. Purpose of this article is to analyze the latter projects in the Caracas dowtown area, El Silencio, Centro Simón Bolívar and Parque Vargas, including the premises amd parameters that guides their designers. The relationships with the context and the connections between the projects and Rotival´s architectural proposal, its concluded that, altough the Rotival plan not end up being caried out, it keeps relationships with later architectural structures, and the urban elements outlined |
