| Resumen en inglés | The Quebrada Blanca deposit belongs to Quebrada Blanca Mining Company, exploitation of the mine is based on the open pit extraction of 6, 300, 000 tpy of secondary enrichment copper sulfide ore, followed by a 3-stage comminution process giving 90 % under 3/8" then agglomeration, bacterial heap leaching and SXEW treatment of the rich solutions so produced thus producing 75, 000 tpy of copper cathodes wich are being exported through Iquique, Quebrada Blana is conscious its social liability with a clean environment, and understands that for long term progress the environmental considerations shoud be incorporated in all of this activity items. The Company´s environmental policy is key for all employees when executing their daily activities as well as for the decisions of the company. The aim of present work is to show how a metallurgical process using peak technology respects and preserves the environment |
