Resumen en inglés This study aims to understand how John Searle understands the mind as property of the brain. From the book The Rediscovery of mind, consider, first, some senses that seem to characterize the investigation of Searle in view of a rediscovery of the mind. Now, are visible in the work both ways intertwined: the scientific and the philosophical. As scientific sense, could be denominated the one that appears since the introduction and extends throughout the work, as it aims to establish a biological status of the mind. But the philosophical sense is one that proposes not to reduce the sphere of mental objective look at the world, which configures perhaps his philosophical stance mainly when it says "not to decree or predict the future of research, whether in philosophy, science and other disciplines". Those are the reasons why it would be necessary to characterize this sense as research, which in a strong aspect can be termed demand for the status of the mind. The scientific sense, in contrast, is the ultimate goal of the research, which means finding the right solution to the problem about the mind, or at least make a right step to the solution; Making the flat path for the rediscovery of the mind. Furthermore, we study on Searle in which extent the mind exerts relations with the brain, and, in this perspective, how could it be possible rediscover it in interactions with the biological body
