Resumen en español Este estudio permite identificar el flujo de la matrícula escolar de varias generaciones de estudiantes. Se utilizó el método de cohortes reales y se desarrolló un sistema informático que permite la consulta en línea de los indicadores de eficiencia terminal de la educación básica en el estado de Yucatán, México. Se utilizaron los datos de los alumnos en educación básica que se encuentran en el Departamento de Registro y Certificación de la Secretaría de Educación del Gobierno del Estado de Yucatán. Se analizaron siete cohortes durante nueve ciclos escolares partiendo del ciclo 2005-2006 y finalizando en el 2016-2017. La eficiencia terminal mostró diferencias significativas con la estadística oficial denominada 911. Así, al finalizar la educación primaria, la eficiencia fue de 72.5%, y según la estadística 911 de 97.3%. Al finalizar la secundaria, la eficiencia fue de 57.2%, y según la estadística 911 fue de 81.9%. Asimismo, se encontró una mayor tendencia de egreso en mujeres que hombres. Además, este sistema permite identificar a estudiantes en riesgo de rezago educativo, haciendo posible que supervisores de zona y directores de las escuelas realicen acciones específicas y pertinentes en los planes de mejora de sus centros educativos
Resumen en inglés This study allows identifying changes in school enrollment throughout several generations of students. The real cohort method was used, and computer software was developed, allowing the online consultation of graduation index in the state of Yucatan, Mexico. The data of the students in basic education found in the Registration and Certification Department of the Secretary of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatan were used. Seven cohorts were analyzed during nine school cycles starting from the 2005-2006 cycle towards 2016-2017. Graduation rate showed significant differences with the official statistics called 911. At the end of primary education, the efficiency was 72.5%, and according to the 911 statistic of 97.3%. At the end of high school, the efficiency was 57.2%, and according to the 911 statistics it was 81.9%. Likewise, there was a greater trend of successfully graduating in women than men. In addition, this system allows identifying students at risk of dropping out, making it possible for Zone Supervisors and School Directors to carry out specific and pertinent actions in the improvement plans of their educational centers
