The Plotinian doctrine of the relations between the soul and the body is a complex one: the body is not united with the soul, but with a kind of image of the soul. This composite of body and image of soul is the seat of the affections. | Resumen en portugués | Na Enéada IV, 7, Plotino afirma que a natureza do homem não é sim- ples, pois ele tem uma alma e um corpo. A doutrina plotiniana das relações entre alma e corpo é complexa: o corpo não está unido à alma, mas a uma espécie de imagem da alma. Por sua vez, o composto formado pelo corpo e a imagem da alma é assento das afecções. Nesse artigo, estudo o que Plotino diz em III, 6 a respeito da origem das afecções no composto e como elas se relacionam com a alma e sua impassibilidade |
