Resumen en inglés | Polymorphism of the gene encoding the enzymatic phase of detoxification of carcinogens may modify the biometabolismo of these agents. The aim of this study was to compare the allelic frequency of the GSTP1 gene in case-control groups and investigate the degree of susceptibility of patients diagnosed with CEC of the larynx by the SCP/HAJ. We analyzed 50 patients with CEC of the laryngeal cancer and 50 individuals with no history of previous neoplasia For the determination of the polymorphism in the gene GSTP1, the samples were submitted to PCR-RFLP reaction with the enzyme Alw26I. The frequency of the (Ile/Ile) was higher in the patient and control groups. Thus, there were no statistically significant associations of variants of GSTP1 genotype with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx |
