Resumen en español | The total hip replacement surgery uses a series of instruments called separators which allows visualize the surgical fi eld (acetabular area). Time, space and surgical fi eld are relevant factors in the development on surgeries affected by the use of separators different desigs that must be restrained by one or more persons to retract tissues of the leg for a long time, thus generating greater morbidity in the patient and stress on the surgical team. (team understood the group consisting of the surgeon, anesthesiologist, instrumentalist and auxiliary) which develops surgery. The instruments currently used in surgeries THR does not satisfy the ergonomic requirements and minimize the optimal working conditions. The use of computational tools has generated in recent decades a quick and safe solution to many engineering problems, thus facilitating the development of processes and products. The fi nite element analysis is one of the most widely used methods of tensile-deformation problems, with a predictive component, applied to the design and development of instruments to optimize the working conditions of the surgical team. The purpose of this study was to improve the working conditions of the surgical team, minimizing postoperative complications of the patient from the study of surgical instruments, especially separators, used for surgery THR, incorporating design criteria and analyzing the stress distribution generated in the model, without losing sight of clinical levels of functionality and mechanical requirements |
