| Resumen en español | Estudio de la problemática a comienzos del siglo XX en América Latina y en Medio Oriente, regiones en apariencia ajenas pero cuyas situaciones política, económica y social en el siglo XIX guardaban un inesperado parecido debido a una misma coyuntura experimentada: el establecimiento del sistema imperial dirigido por las grandes potencias colonizadoras, la expansión del capitalismo y del predominio de gobiernos y compañías europeas y estadounidenses en regiones periféricas del sistema mundial. Aguijoneados por los principios de soberanía nacional, constitucionalismo, antiimperialismo y socialismo, nuevas corrientes darían nacimiento a movimientos reformistas y revolucionarios que a lo largo del siglo XX influirán con avatares distintos en la historia de América Latina y de Medio Oriente |
| Resumen en inglés | Study of the state of affairs in Latin America and the Middle East at the beginning of the 20th century; these regions, different in their political, economic and social situations in the 19th century, were similar in that they experienced the same scenario: the implementation of the imperial system, managed by the great colonizing powers, and capitalism’s dissemination with the wide spread of European companies and governments in peripheral areas of the world system. Driven by the notions of national sovereignty, constitutionalism, antiimperialism and socialism, new reformist and revolutionary movements were launched throughout the 20th century, and filled Latin America’s and Middle Eastern history with new twists |
