Resumen en inglés | In order to evaluate the use of sludge from the anaerobic digestion of livestock waste in the cultivation of sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas L.) planted at a density of 0.90 m x 0.30 m, in a red Ferralitic soil, used an experimental design randomized block with three treatments (no fertilizer, with 13 t/ha of sludge and 18 t/ha of sludge) and four replications. Each plot had a 40 m 2 area, 4 x 10 m dimensions. We found an increase in the percentage of germination with significant differences (p < 0,01), (p < 0,001), (p <0.05) for all sampling periods and for the highest dose applied. Additionally, there was a significant increase in the number of leaves (p < 0,05) at 20 days after the establishment with the 18 t/ha of sludge application. The covered area was significant (p < 0,001) and (p < 0,05) always on the higher dose treatment after 61 days of established, showed an increase of soil fertility, however the yields only marked a trend toward increased use of sludge. With more than 50% and 25% of Cylas formicaries affections was only observed in the first treatment with 2 % and 4% respectively and with less than 10 % of damages was possible to achieve the major production in all studied treatments (91,1; 95,5 and 95,5 %) |
