| Resumen en español | El objetivo de este estudio es aplicar la estadística matemática para conocer el grado de correlación entre las variables clínicas, ecográficas y efectividad terapéutica en deportistas con sinovitis postraumática de rodilla durante la aplicación del tratamiento convencional y el campo electromagnético de frecuencia extremadamente baja a 60 Hz. La sinovitis de rodilla postraumática es una lesión frecuente en deportistas. Se usaron, las variables edad, género, exámenes físicos inicial y final, ecografías de rodilla inicial y final, Escalas Visual Analógica inicial y final, rangos de la Escalas Visual Analógica inicial y final, índice de efectividad analgésica y respuesta del paciente al tratamiento. Se utilizaron los coeficientes Rho de Spearman y eta para conocer los grados de correlación lineal y no lineal entre las variables arriba mencionadas, respectivamente. Se confirmó la buena correspondencia del análisis estadístico con los hallazgos revelados en el examen físico, ecografía, efectividad de cada terapia y la respuesta de cada deportista a ambas terapias. Se concluye que los resultados del análisis estadístico confirman los reportados en la clínica y sugieren la necesidad de la evaluación integrada del deportista, teniendo en cuenta las variables clínicas, imagenológicas, estadísticas y terapéuticas (fundamentalmente la de tipo físico, como el ELF-EMF a 60 Hz) |
| Resumen en inglés | The aim of this paper is to use the statistics to know the correlation degree among clinical, ultrasound and therapeutic effectiveness variables in knee post-traumatic synovitis athletes during the application of conventional treatment and the extremely low frequency-electromagnetic field at 60 Hz. Post-traumatic knee synovitis is a common injury in athletes. The variables age, gender, initial and final physical examinations, initial and final knee ultrasounds, initial and final Visual Analog Scales, rangesof the initial and final Visual Analog Scales, index of analgesic effectiveness and treatment patient response were used. Rho Spearman and eta coefficients were used to know linear and non-linear correlation degrees among variables above-mentioned, respectively. It was confirmed the good correspondence of the statistical analysis with the findings revealed in the physical examination, ultrasound, effectiveness of each one of these two therapies and the response of each athlete to both treatments. It is concluded that the results of the statistical analysis confirm those reported in clinic and suggest the need for the athlete integrated assessment, taking in account clinical, imaging, statistical and therapeutic (mainly the physics type, as ELF-EMF to 60 Hz)variables |
