Resumen en inglés This work is based in Oswald Ducrot (1983, 1987, 1988, 2005, 2008) and Marion Carel studies (2005, 2009), responsible for develop the Semantics Blocks Theory (SBT) as ersatz to Argumentation in Language Theory (ALT). The objective is to analyze the machadiana work “Dom Casmurro”, beneath the linguistics-discursive perspective, to propose a reading comprehension of structuralist stamp, which postulate to be the argumentative meaning. This research is characterized as descriptive e bibliographic, by qualitative approach to develop the analysis. The research corpus is of three stretch of the work “Dom Casmurro”, by Machado de Assis, that mention the eyes of the character Capitu and his son. The held analysis possible to show the mention to the character conduct us to a polyphonic work, in which are possible inferred and describe many meanings (many points of view) through argumentative threads (segments united by connectors donc or pourtant). From each stretch we identified the argumentative threads, presented in the enunciation and the possibilities of they be “showed” by the locator as points of view from enunciators. From the argumentative movement generated and constituted by the full word “eyes”, we can inferred the character Capitu betrayed Bentinho, however, it is also possible argue in favor of this character fidelity, as the argumentative thread inferred by the reader though its reading comprehension. The three excerpts are significant in the conduction of the global meaning of the romance, that is by the end say the work is polyphonic and accepts to be interpreted/comprehended by different aspects of semantics blocks, as the concepts sustained by SBT/ALT
