| Resumen en inglés | This article addresses the phenomenon of the popularity of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Although in recent years AI has received significant media and academic attention, especially regarding its potential, more debate is needed not only about its latent uses, but also about the ethical and legal dilemmas associated with its development and adoption among the public. This work aims to contribute to this discussion from a critical point of view. It is divided in V sections, "Artificial Intelligence and the current socio-historical context", which deals with the actual socio-historical context and its link with the popularization of AI. Subsequently, section II, Artificial Intelligence: applications, capabilities and memories presents a summary of the positive arguments, potential uses, and reluctance regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence. The following section III, Ethical and legal dilemmas of Artificial Intelligence, discusses the main legal problems and considerations that have occurred in recent years with respect to artificial intelligence. The penultimate section (IV) provides a brief analysis of the potential challenges and benefits of the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence in Latin America is. Finally, the section V, the conclusions, highlights the importance of addressing the development and use of AI systems and applications under ethical principles and comprehensive legal regulations. |
| Resumen en español | Este artículo aborda el fenómeno de la popularidad de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA). Si bien en años recientes la IA ha recibido una atención mediática y académica importante especialmente en lo concerniente a sus potencialidades, hace falta más debate no solamente sobre sus potenciales usos, sino también sobre los dilemas éticos y legales aparejados a su utilización entre el público en general. Este trabajo se propone abonar a esta discusión desde un punto de vista crítico. Su desarrollo se divide en V apartados, La Inteligencia Artificial y el contexto sociohistórico actual, donde se trata contexto sociohistórico donde sucede el proceso de adopción tecnológica de la IA. Posteriormente, en el apartado II denominado Inteligencia Artificial: aplicaciones, capacidades y recelos se abordan los argumentos positivos, potenciales usos, así como reticencias con respecto a la Inteligencia Artificial. En la siguiente sección III, Dilemas éticos y jurídicos de la Inteligencia Artificial se plantean las principales problemáticas legales y consideraciones que han ocurrido en los últimos años con respecto a esta tecnología. En el penúltimo apartado (IV), se presenta un breve análisis sobre los potenciales retos y beneficios de la incorporación de la Inteligencia Artificial en América Latina. Para finalmente, resaltar en el apartado V, las conclusiones, la importancia de abordar de manera ética y bajo ordenamientos legales integrales y claros el desarrollo y uso de los sistemas y aplicaciones centrados en la IA. |
