| Resumen en español | La noche tiene una creciente relevancia en los estudios sociales y geográficos. Este artículo analiza la importancia de la noche en el turismo. Esto permite identificar las áreas de estudio dentro del turismo y las conexiones que la noche tiene con otras disciplinas sociales. Se identifica que la noche y la oscuridad son componentes significativos de la experiencia turística. Retomando los argumentos de Georg Simmel y Norbert Elias, se propone que los individuos y las sociedades usan los espacios turísticos en la oscuridad como parte de esta lucha por conservar su individualidad frente a la homogeneidad que impone el mercado, pero al mismo tiempo, para sentirse perfectamente integrados a la sociedad |
| Resumen en inglés | In social sciences and geography, the night is of increasing relevance. This paper explores the night’s importance in tourism, identifying areas of study in these and other disciplines where it has been analyzed. The article notes that night and darkness are significant components of the tourism experience. Based on arguments from Georg Simmel and Norbert Elias, it proposes that individuals and societies use dark tourist spaces to preserve their individuality against the homogeneity imposed by markets but also to foster their feeling that they are perfectly integrated into society |
