| Resumen en inglés | Currently we live under a discursive order that suggests the existence of a series of advantages related to the introduction and the maintenance of the “new” technologies in our lives. At the same time, it is necessary to analyze how much this potent discursive order strengthens a system of thought that is typical of the control societies, where all the resources and products (technological ones, above all) that are provided and made available in the “market” aim, almost exclusively, that we become hypercontrolled subjects. Aiming to reflect upon some of the discourses that are produced and published in two Brazilian nationally-distributed magazines (Veja and IstoÉ), it is sought to understand the productivity of these texts and images that suggest what we have to do and which technologies, mechanisms or tools we have to use to live the present and the future in a better way, even though we may become virtualized, digitalized, bionic, chiped, controlled and lonely. There are many promises, and analyzing these discourses allows us to recognize their multiplicity and instability, as well as the emphases and the resources that are used, besides the possible relationships with other discourses that circulate and strengthen our need to live in a highly technological society, even if the cost of the announced benefits produces, among other harms, a (hyper) control over all of us |
| Resumen en portugués | Vivemos, atualmente, sob a égide de uma ordem discursiva que nos sugere existir uma série de vantagens relacionadas à introdução e à manutenção das “novas” tecnologias em nossas vidas. Ao mesmo tempo, é preciso analisar o quanto esta potente ordem discursiva fortalece um sistema de pensamento, típico das sociedades de controle, onde os inúmeros recursos e produtos (sobretudo os tecnológicos) oferecidos e disponibilizados no “mercado”, visam, quase que exclusivamente, que nos tornemos sujeitos hipercontrolados. Com o objetivo de refletir sobre alguns dos discursos produzidos e veiculados em duas revistas de circulação nacional (Veja e IstoÉ), busca-se compreender a produtividade destes textos e imagens que sugerem o que devemos fazer e quais tecnologias, mecanismos ou instrumentos devemos utilizar para vivermos melhor o presente e o futuro, ainda que nos tornemos virtualizados, digitalizados, biônicos, chipados, controlados e sós. As promessas são muitas, e analisar tais discursos nos permite reconhecer a multiplicidade e a instabilidade dos mesmos, as ênfases e os recursos utilizados, além das possíveis relações com outros discursos que circulam e fortalecem a necessidade de vivermos um uma sociedade altamente tecnológica, mesmo que o custo dos benefícios anunciados produza, entre outros malefícios, um (hiper)controle sobre todos nós |
