Resumen en inglés The cult of Demeter and Core in Carthage has already been the subject of attention by several researchers. The cult of the two Greek goddesses was present in North Africa, notably in Carthage, as well as in other parts of the Punic world, such as Spain and the island of Sardinia, for example, in Tharros; this is attested by Greek sources, by a considerable amount of Punic and neo-Punic (and also Latin) epigraphic inscriptions and by Archeology, which in the pre-Roman period has abundant documentation, mainly from shrines such as Kourba and Soliman, in Cape Bon, where we find figures connected to the Greek Siciliot cult of Demeter; another important source is numismatics. The purpose of this study is, above all, to consider the sources available systematically, but not completely, and to reflect on certain debates on the theme, which will allow us to reflect on the nature of this cult in Carthage. Keywords: Cult of Demeter; Cult of core; Carthage; Ancient religion; Archeology
