| Resumen en español | El tratamiento de la inestabilidad vertebral no es nada nuevo en nuestra época al igual que la instrumentación para fijarla. El equipo de cirugía de columna del Hospital Juárez de México muestra por medio de este artículo la experiencia adquirida en diez años de tratamiento de la inestabilidad vertebral con el uso de materiales diseñados por el autor y fabricados por Manufacturas Solco S.A. de C.V. con el fin de ser de fácil colocación y menor costo que es tan importante en el problema económico por el que cursa nuestro país. Objetivo: Valorar que los sistemas de fijación utilizados para la estabilización de la columna son una garantía para alcanzar la artrodesis posterolateral o de 360 grados a nivel cervical, torácico y lumbar. Material y métodos: Se operan 450 pacientes con diagnóstico de inestabilidad vertebral cervical, torácica y lumbar en un promedio de 10 años ocasionados por hernia discal, espondilolistesis, fracturas, inestabilidad posquirúrgica, infección y tumores vertebrales primarios y metastáticos. La instrumentación utilizada fue el sistema VSF (Sistema de Fijación Vertebral), cajas intersomáticas lumbares de PEEK (polieteretercetona) tipo banana, placa Bios para fijación vertebral toracolumbar anterior y placa anterior cervical KCS (Sistema Cervical Moleteado) con caja intersomática cervical de PEEK. Conclusión: Con estos implantes de fijación vertebral hemos logrado la estabilización de la columna con el uso mínimo de instrumental de fácil aplicación y en menor tiempo de cirugía disminuyendo el riesgo quirúrgico del paciente |
| Resumen en inglés | Introduction. The treatment of the vertebral instability is not anything new in our time the same as the instrumentation to fix it. The team of surgery of column of the Hospital Juarez de Mexico shows by means of this article the experience acquired in ten years of treatment of the vertebral instability with the use of materials designed by the author and manufactured by Manufacturas Solco S.A de C.V. with the purpose of being of easy placement and smaller cost that it is so important in the economic problem for which studies our country. Objective. To value that the fixation systems used for the stabilization of the column are a guarantee to reach the posterolateral arthrodesis or of 360 degrees at cervical, thoracic and lumbar level. Material and methods. 450 patients are operated with cervical, thoracic and lumbar diagnosis of vertebral instability in a 10 year-old average caused by hernia discal, espondylolisthesis, fractures, posquirurgical instability, infection and primary vertebral tumors and metastatic. The used instrumentation was the system VSF (System of Vertebral Fixation), intersomatic boxes lumbar of PEEK (polieteretercetona) type banana, badge Bios for fixation vertebral previous toracolumbar and cervical previous badge KCS (Cervical System Moleteado) with intersomatic box cervical of PEEK. Conclusion. With these implant of vertebral fixation we have achieved the stabilization of the column with used of minimal instrumental of easy application and smaller time of surgery diminishing the patient’s surgical risk |
