| Resumen en español | La educación constituye el eje neurálgico de la transformación de una sociedad, apostar por una propuesta educativa que cuestione el conocimiento hegemónico y la ciencia como construcción positivista, permite formar profesionales y seres humanos con una visión más amplia del mundo, que logren articular la diversidad cultural que lo caracteriza. Por este motivo, en el presente artículo se analiza la educación superior en América Latina. A partir de una mirada intercultural crítica, se recorren las diferentes corrientes teóricas educativas, la situación de América Latina como región altamente diversa y a la vez inequitativa, y finalmente se presentan reflexiones necesarias para cuestionar y transformar el sistema educativo |
| Resumen en inglés | Education constitutes the central point of the transformation of a society, betting on an educational proposal that questions hegemonic knowledge and science as a positivist construction, allows to train professionals and human beings with a broader vision of the world, which manage to articulate cultural diversity what characterize it. For this reason, this article analyzes higher education in Latin America. From a critical intercultural view, the different educational theoretical currents, the situation of Latin America as a highly diverse and at the same time unequal region are traversed, and finally reflections necessary to question and transform the educational system are presented |
