| Resumen en español | El presente artículo aborda el estudio del texto constitucional que fue aprobado en Jimaguayú, en 1895, en medio de la guerra de Independencia cubana que tuvo lugar entre 1895 y 1898. El artículo no solo se encarga de analizar la estructura y el contenido de dicho texto constitucional, sino que por igual presta atención a las principales tendencias que se vieron manifestadas dentro de los debates de la Asamblea Constituyente en la cual este fue redactado, así como también toma en cuenta las principales cuestiones que fueron discutidas en el seno de dicha Asamblea. Asimismo se analiza la trascendencia que pudo haber tenido el pensamiento de José Martí en la configuración final de la forma de gobierno adoptada en la Constitución de Jimaguayú, y se esboza un panorama por los antecedentes inmediatos del texto constitucional en cuestión |
| Resumen en inglés | The present paper approaches the study of the constitutional text that was approved in Jimaguayú, in 1895, in the middle of the Cuban Independence War, which took place between 1895 and 1898. The paper not only analyzes the structure and content of the mentioned constitutional text, but also pays attention to the main trends that were manifested in the debates of the Constituent Assembly in which it was redacted, as well as taking into account the main issues that were discussed in that Assembly. It also analyzes the importance that José Martí's thought could have had in the final configuration of the form of government adopted in the Jimaguayú Constitution, and outlines the immediate antecedents of the constitutional text in question |
