| Resumen en inglés | The present article discusses a philosophical reading of Rulfo"s narrative, specially the story "Luvina". Making special emphasis in the interpretation of history and antihistoricism, following Nietzsche"s critique. All this with the objective of criti- cally exploring the ideals of the modern figure of progress. Furthermore, the article examines the concept of history, according to Benjamin, taking as its starting point the conception against the hegemonic speeches in occident"s historic nar- ration. We understand this description in terms of catastrophe. Therefore, this analysis functions as a strategy to bring back to memory all the absent victims of the so-called progress. Victims that we find in the forgotten and uprooted characters of the Mexican rural modernity of the mid-20th century, depicted by Rulfo. All these characters portray an anguished subjectivity of post-revolutionary Mexico, who tend to turn towards their own interiority rather than dealing with the absurdity of a world that becomes less human each day. |
| Resumen en español | El presente artículo propone realizar una lectura filosófica de la narrativa de Rul- fo, en especial del cuento "Luvina", haciendo hincapié en la interpretación de la historia y el antihistoricismo según Nietzsche; con la finalidad de explorar de manera crítica los ideales de la figura moderna del progreso. Igualmente, examina la concepción de la historia —siguiendo a Benjamin— a partir de una noción a contrapelo de los discursos hegemónicos de la narración histórica de Occidente, entendida ésta en clave de catástrofe. Este análisis será comprendido como una estrategia para rememorar a las víctimas ausentes de la figura del pro- greso histórico, a quienes hallamos en los personajes olvidados y desarraigados de la modernidad rural mexicana de mitad del siglo xx, descrita por Rulfo. Dichos personajes representan una subjetividad angustiada del México posrevolucionario y tienden a volcarse a su interioridad, debido al absurdo de un mundo cada vez más ajeno a lo humano. |
