| Resumen en inglés | The areas near the Teatinos River in Tunja (Colombia) are a national heritage, given that the Battle of Boyacá occurred there, a battle that lead to the victory of the liberating campaign. The archeology of the war suggests that the battlefield may contain traces of the unknown stories of those who fought on August 7th, 1819. This article georeferenced these events to grid-reference the areas where this material culture could remain buried. Based on a theoretical framework of military strategy and tactics and social organization, the primary sources and the military symbols were studied to determine the combatants" distribution in the field, identifying the spaces where the vestiges could be found. |
| Resumen en español | Las áreas cercanas al río Teatinos en Tunja (Colombia) son patrimonio nacional debido a que allí sucedió la batalla de Boyacá, que significó el triunfo de la campaña libertadora. La arqueología de la guerra sugiere que esos territorios podrían contener vestigios de las historias desconocidas de quienes lucharon el 7 de agosto de 1819 durante dicha batalla. Este artículo brinda una georreferenciación de estos hechos, con miras a identificar las coordenadas en que podría permanecer enterrada dicha cultura material. Para ello, con base en un marco teórico sobre estrategia y táctica militar, y sobre organización social, se estudiaron fuentes primarias para conocer la distribución de los combatientes en el terreno, y se analizó la simbología militar. Con ello se logran identificar los espacios en que pueden encontrarse vestigios. |
