Resumen en inglés | This paper means to pay hommage to the great northamerican paleontologist Stephan Jay Gould, who passed away two years ago. Gould studied the scientific ideology and values of the XIXth and the early XXth century reveling its racist and xenofobist carachteristics. This work examines two of the most extended activities analized by Gould: the obssesion for craniometry and the acritic application of the Binet-Simon I.Q tests in America. It concludes, basing itself on Gould's research, that the dominant scientific axiology legitimated the inevitable superiority of some human groups over others |
