| Resumen en inglés | This article evaluates the standard of industrial location of the State of Ceará, its specialty and concentration in the state territory. The objective is to understand how the industry is distributed in local areas and what the involvement of the regions in industrial activity of the state is. In this purpose, were used indicators commonly employed in studies of industrial location, namely: Quotient and Location Coefficient, and Specialization Coefficient. The results of the location quotient revealed the regions relatively more diversified, as Fortaleza and Cariri, and more specialized, as Sobral. Moreover, the Specialization Coefficient pointed to the similarity between the industrial structure of the regions in relation to the structure of the state as a whole, while the Location Coefficient identified for industrial activities a small regional dispersion, which are similarly distributed spatially, following the pattern of the general industry. Thus, great specializations or differentiation don’t configure themselves in terms of production structure. Finally, the spatial dispersion of industry is a limited movement, encouraged by the characteristics of the local industry in terms of local demands relatively minors, and hampered by the lack of attractions in many of the regions, especially in terms of flooding, as economies of agglomeration and location, among others |
| Resumen en portugués | Avalia o padrão locacional da indústria do Estado do Ceará, sua especialização e concentração no território estadual. Busca entender como o setor se distribui no espaço cearense e qual a participação das regiões na atividade industrial do Estado. Utiliza indicadores comumente empregados em estudos de localização industrial, a saber: Quociente e Coeficiente Locacional e Coeficiente de Especialização. Conclui que não se configuram maiores especializações ou diferenciação em termos de estrutura produtiva; a dispersão espacial da indústria mostra um movimento limitado, favorecido pelas características da indústria local em termos de exigências locacionais relativamente menores e dificultada pela inexistência de atratividades na grande parte das regiões, especialmente em termos de transbordamentos, como economias de aglomeração e de localização, dentre outras |
