| Resumen en inglés | The article presents the progress of an ongoing investigation, in relation to the social representations of gender violence in dating relationships, in the university environment. The objective is the characterization of the social representations of gender violence that impact the dating relationships of students in the area of the Universidad Mayor de San Simón. The methodology is established in the interpretive, qualitative paradigm related to the meaning of social practice and the study of the discourse of the university students themselves. It has been possible to identify that the social representations of gender violence in dating relationships, were strengthened related to the patriarchal culture. Therefore, men try to hide the fact that they are also victims of violence, guarding the social representations of their masculinity. This type of social representations have a negative impact on dating relationships. |
| Resumen en español | El artículo presenta el avance de una investigación en curso, en relación a las representaciones sociales de la violencia de género en las relaciones de noviazgo, en el ámbito universitario. El objetivo es la caracterización de las representaciones sociales de la violencia de género que impactan en las relaciones de noviazgo de estudiantes en el ámbito de la Universidad Mayor de San Simón. La metodología se estableció en el paradigma interpretativo, cualitativo relacionado con el significado de la práctica social y el estudio del discurso de los propios universitarios. Se ha logrado identificar que las representaciones sociales de la violencia de género en las relaciones de noviazgo, se establecen relacionados con la cultura patriarcal. Por lo que los hombres tratan de invisibilizar que ellos también son víctimas de violencia, precautelando las representaciones sociales de su masculinidad. Ese tipo de representaciones sociales impactan negativamente en las relaciones de noviazgo. |
